Homework is an important aspect of a child’s educational experience. Home assignments should be of reasonable length and time and the quantity should be determined by the individual needs of the student. It is the responsibility of the teacher to evaluate homework promptly with proper recognition given for a student’s efforts. Homework should be a supplement to classroom instruction. It is the students’ responsibility to complete homework neatly and correctly. It is the parents’ responsibility to support this portion of the educational program by encouragement and involvement with the student and teacher. On-going communication among teacher, student, and parent is essential for the success of this important part of the school’s program.
